We are appalled by the human tragedy in Ukraine. We stand in solidarity with our colleagues there and want to say to them ‘you are not alone’.

The Rotary International Convention in Melbourne

We had a robust presence at the Rotary International Convention in Melbourne.

Our booth in the House of Friendship was one of the most colourful and perhaps the busiest. We met many old friends and made many new ones.
We heard so many amazing stories about Rotary’s impact on healthcare in different parts of the world.

An important contact we made was with a group of NGOs involved in health programmes. We met together and shared our experiences. It was clear that we all had a common vision to reach out to those with limited
access to healthcare. We acknowledged that by staying connected we could learn from each other.
As a first step we agreed to create a Directory of
Healthcare programmes in which NGOs and Rotary groups are involved.

Many mums and babies are innocent victims of the Ukrainian war. We are reaching to them and to those who care for them.

“Dear Colleagues, Rotarian Friends! Thank you so much!

Your support is incredibly important for us here in Ukraine.

With sincere respect and gratitude to you”

Dr Volodymyr Korolenko, Fellowship member.

Health Outcomes and Patient Safety

We call on Rotarians to use our vast resources to ensure that patients receive safe and respectful care and do not suffer harm whilst in care.

Together for Safe Care: Improving new-born Outcomes

Globally 2.4 million children died in the first month of life. In 2019 there were 6,700 new-born deaths every day. Approximately one third are due to Asphyxia and lack of resuscitation. By implementing Helping Babies Breathe, we can reduce avoidable deaths with successful breathing and resuscitation techniques.

Helping Babies Breathe is an evidenced-based hands-on neonatal resuscitation program designed to save new-born lives in resource-limited  environment.
